Catamaran: the flagship

More cabins and a large shared saloon and cockpit, a flatter ride and shallow draft. They cost more per week than monohulls (2.3× in Croatia and 2.2× in Greece, our calculation) and burn more fuel. Detail: catamaran vs monohull. Monthly prices for every destination are on the destination pages.

Sailing yacht (monohull)

The lowest weekly fee and deposit in our data, and many sailors find them more rewarding to sail. They heel under sail and have less living space for the price.

Motor yacht

Motor yachts are typically chartered crewed. What we can source is the cost structure: Helm puts the APA at around 35–40% of the charter fee for motor yachts, against 25–35% for sailing yachts and catamarans (Helm, checked 27 Oct 2026). We have no verified public price average for motor yachts, so we don't show one. Ask operators for a full quote including the APA.

Which to choose

  • Group or family, comfort at anchor: catamaran.
  • Lowest cost, or you like to sail: monohull.
  • Service and speed, budget less of a constraint: motor yacht, crewed.
